We take on a few new members each term. You do not need a finance background. You need to read a chart, argue a point, and write it up clearly.
Pick a country or theme, build the argument from public data, and write it up as a short paper. The bar is simple: it should change how the group would position, not just restate the news.
Clear writing and real curiosity about Asian markets. You should be able to read a chart and say what matters. No finance background needed.
Write the Python that pulls and cleans the data and makes the charts and tables behind the papers. Keep it simple enough that anyone on the team can rerun it.
Comfortable with Python and pandas. Prior projects help but are not required. Show us something you have built: a script, a notebook, or a chart and what you concluded from it.
Follow APAC rates, currencies, and equities, flag what is moving and why, and pressure-test the group's calls against what the tape is actually doing.
You already follow markets, not because someone told you to. Comfortable with macro data and price action. Prior experience helps but is not required.
